Grapes: 50% Garnacha, 25% Merlot, 20% Syrah and 5% Cariñena
Produced exclusively from a certified organic, 3 hectare vineyard. Organic certification occurs through the Catalan Council of Agricultural production. All grapes are hand harvested and then undergo a 48 hour pre-fermentation cold soak followed by temperature controlled fermentation between 84° F to 91° F in small stainless steel vats, and are macerated for a 25 day period. Aged in 50% new and 50% 1 year old French Allier oak barrels for 10 months.
Vivid ruby. Smoky and focused on the nose, displaying aromas of fresh red berries, cherry pit, tobacco and cedar. The silky, appealingly sweet and focused palate boasts vibrant redcurrant and raspberry flavors and a hint of bitter rhubarb. Nicely concentrated and balanced. Shows very good energy and lift on a long, smoke-accented finish that's framed by smooth, slow-building tannins. Mediterranean Spain

Among Genium's fine lineup of 2010 Priorat reds, this one stands out for its schisty nose of cherry, currant and raspberry. A ripe, layered, chiseled palate is tough but rewarding. Cherry, cassis and plum flavors finish fiery and minerally, even by Priorat standards. Drink through 2025. September 2016

This is a selection from a 7.4-acre parcel of organically farmed vines, including garnacha (half of the blend), merlot, syrah and a little cariñena. The wine is aged in new and second-use barrels for ten months, but the oak influence is not at all evident. This feels refined, firm and robust, showing spices and earthy notes, together with an electric acidity illuminating everything. With some air, it feels even more complex, delivering aromas of slate and flint. This puts on a show that will only get better with five more years in the bottle, thought it's approachable now with slow-braised beef. February 2017
