90 International Wine Review Pale pale salmon. This is yet another very attractive 100% Garnacha from Spain, in this case Rioja. It has a nose of red strawberry with a touch of tangerine and offers a soft attack. The palate shows riper flavors and excellent balance with a creamy mouth feel.

89 Vinous Media Shimmering pink. Dried red berries, orange zest and a floral element on the perfumed nose. Dry and fleshy in the mouth, offering red currant, bitter cherry and blood orange flavors that deepen steadily on the back half. A spicy white pepper note emerges on the nicely persistent finish, which leaves a tangy citrus zest note behind.

89 Washington Wine Blog Made from Garnacha grapes, the 2019 Vina Otano Rose shows really good freshness with melon and wet stone tones that combine with hints of orange zest and red raspberry. Drink 2020-2024.

87 View from the Cellar The 2019 Garnacha Rosado from Vina Otano is a lovely, pale salmon color and offers up a bright bouquet of strawberries, orange peel, salty soil tones and dried flowers. On the palate the wine is bouncy, full-bodied and juicy at the core, with a good foundation of soil tones, moderate acids and good length on the finish. This is not overly complex but hits all the right notes and is quite food friendly. 2021-2023.

88 Wine Enthusiast Aromas of pear, guava and flint prepare the palate for flavors of peach, apricot and lemongrass with a hint of smoke. A visceral mineral note permeates the finish. Grapes of Spain.

85 View from the Cellar Viña Otano’s 2021 Rioja Rosado is also made up entirely from Garnacha. The wine is a fairly pale salmon color and delivers a bright bouquet of melon, white flowers, a touch of bubble gum and a nice base of soil. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied, zesty and easy-going, with a touch of fluidity in the core, sound acids and a wide open, rather short finish. This is okay, but it does not taste like there was a lot of conviction behind its addition to the lineup here, though of course, it may just be suffering from its choice of closure. 2022-2024.

89 View from the Cellar The 2022 Rioja Rosado from Viña Otano is crafted from garnacha and is a pale salmon color. The wine is bright and expressive on the nose, wafting from the glass in a mix of tangerine, a touch of sumac, rose petals, white soil tones and a touch of wild fennel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, succulent and a touch candied in personality, with lovey depth at the core, good soil signature, zesty acids and fine focus and balance and lovely lift on the long finish. Good juice- wish it was bottled under natural cork! 2023-2030.
