90 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar Bright yellow. Spicy orchard and pit fruit aromas are complemented by toasty oak spices and lemon rind, with a dusty mineral undertone adding nuance. Fleshy and smooth in the mouth, offering pear and peach flavors, strong herbacity and a refreshingly bitter note of citrus pith. Anise and mineral notes build with air and linger on the long, spicy finish.
87 The Wine Advocate Beginning with their limited production white, the 2009 Ximenis has a neutral nose of light resin aromas tinctured with Conference pear and apple blossom. The palate is medium-bodied with a waxy entry. There is good acidity with some pleasant oxidative, nutty aromas that lead to a stern, dry, almost Roussanne-like finish. Drink this intriguing white Priorat over the next two or three years.

90 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar Light, bright gold. High-pitched aromas of lemon zest, jasmine and ginger. Sappy, floral-accented citrus and bitter pear skin flavors show very good depth and a refreshingly tangy quality on the back half. The long finish is dry, clean and precise with a floral nuance.
89 Wine Spectator Online This thick white delivers almond, licorice and jasmine flavors in a thick texture, not fruity at all, but fresh and focused. Muscular yet polished. Drink now through 2015.
88 Wine Enthusiast This small-lot, dry Pedro Ximénez is maderized and oxidized, but also interesting. The nose is waxy and resiny, with dusty peach and apricot aromas. In the mouth, it’s complex and mature, however the flavors are bitter and subdued, with corn and wheaty notes. A bready, honeyed finish brings things around. Just 90 cases made.
