In the year 2002, six families from the municipality of Poboleda (Priorat) with a long tradition in vine growing decided to join their efforts in order to make high quality wines from their own crops. All of them have day jobs outside of the bodega and share the work in the vineyards and cellar.
The winery is focused on traditional varietals for the region Garnacha, Cariñena and Pedro Ximenis (of which they own ~30% of the total plantings in the DOQ) which are planted on both terraces and steeply sloping costers. They also have 3+ hectares of certified organic vineyards, a first within the DOQ. The cellar is located in the basement of a house that dates to 1265, predating the initial settlement of the Carthusian monks, the original winemakers of Priorat.
The goal of the winery is to produce wines with a typical character of the region. Having vineyards in three different zones of Priorat (Poboleda, La Morera del Montsant and Torroja del Priorat) allows for different character, tone, complexity and personality in the wines.
The winery was honored by Wine & Spirits Magazine through inclusion in their Top 100 Wineries of the Year in 2017.
