Great Value The Washington Post This spicy, fruity pink bubbly is made with garnacha, the Spanish name for the grenache grape. It’s racy and tasty and fun, ideal for turning any evening into a party, as well as for washing down pre-dinner nibbles. ABV: 12 percent.

Good Value Wine & Spirits Magazine With its red fruit and sweet spice, this is a soft, refreshing Cava to serve with smoked salmon.

Excellent Bigger Than Your Head The color is a lovely coral-copper hue that’s animated by a froth of glinting, upward surging bubbles. I was surprised and pleased at the quality of this Cava, especially at the price; this is no kissy-face little pushover. Notes of strawberries, raspberries and orange zest are wreathed with hints of apple skin, almond blossom and lime peel that devolve to a pronounced aroma of damp limestone and flint. Those mineral aspects dominate the palate, where this sparking wine is delicate, elegant and a little austere, but spare flavors of slightly spiced and macerated red fruit are not neglected. The finish is sleek, saline and chiseled, lithe but generous, and delivers a full component of limestone and chalk minerality. I could drink this stuff all day, metaphorically speaking, of course, but you know what I mean.

89 Vinous Media Pale, bright orange. Fresh citrus fruits and red berries on the fragrant, spice-accented nose and in the mouth. Juicy and nicely concentrated, with a floral nuance emerging on the back half. Finishes warm and tangy, with good persistence and repeating spiciness. (Lot #831644; eight g/l residual sugar)

89 International Wine Review If you like the fresh strawberry flavors of the Grenache grape, you’ll love this sparkler. It shows beautiful (biutiful) Grenache aromas and flavors and a creamy, soft mousse. The wine has enough ripe fruit to make it a good pairing for the Thanksgiving meal. Aged on the lees for 9 months. 9.1 g/l RS.
Issue 40 - December/January 2014
87 The Wine Enthusiast Melon and nectarine aromas are simple but fresh and forward. A lean palate follows the nose, while this tastes of nectarine and citrus rind. Despite mild bitterness on the finish, this maintains a sense of freshness. Made entirely from Garnacha, which is rare for Cava.
